Panel Upgrades
Your Panel Was Sized for a House That Doesn't Exist Anymore
An older home was wired for an older life. A 100-amp panel was plenty when a house ran a stove, a water heater, an air conditioner, and a television. It's a different story once you add a second HVAC system, a shop out back, a hot tub, an EV in the driveway, and a kitchen full of things that didn't exist when the panel was installed.
The signs are usually consistent: breakers that trip when two large appliances run together, lights that dim when the AC kicks on, no open slots left in the panel, or an electrician telling you the panel can't safely take another circuit. Some older panels have known defects and can't be added to at all.
A service upgrade replaces the panel — and often the meter base and service entrance — with equipment sized for how the house is actually used.

How It Works
How the Job Runs
We start by looking at your existing service, your actual load, and what you're planning to add. You get a firm price before any work begins.
We pull the permit, coordinate the utility disconnect and reconnect, install the new panel and breakers, and meet the inspector when they come out. That last part matters — permits and inspections are part of the job, not an extra you're left to handle.
Most panel upgrades finish in a day, and power is off only for part of it. Labor is warrantied for a year. Financing is available through Acorn.

It depends on your existing service, whether the meter base and service entrance also need replacing, and the utility coordination involved. We'll look at it and give you a firm price up front. Financing is available through Acorn.
Most panel upgrades are a one-day job, with power off for part of the day.
Yes. We pull the permit, coordinate the utility disconnect and reconnect, and meet the inspector. That's part of the job, not something we leave to you.
For most homes, yes — 200-amp service handles a modern household including an EV charger and a shop. Larger homes with multiple HVAC systems, a pool, and heavy shop loads sometimes need more. We'll calculate it rather than guess.
